1. Pip felt miserable at Christmas dinner because his life was at an unconvenient state. First and foremost, Pip himself leads an unhappy life, which is to say more led by nasty people, such as Mrs.Joe, his guardian and sister. Nobody values him or treats him well, to the point where he just lives out his life that way. Mrs.Joe is uncaring and always makes Pip feel everyone and she is his better, and to remind him she "brought him up by hand", and his relatives who are all there share the same belief. They tell him to be grateful and make a mockery and a somewhat undirect disgrace of him by talking about how ungrateful children are. Plus, he was under the belief of what the convict in the chruch yard told him. He has stolen some food from Mrs.Joe, including the pork pie for Christmas, which puts him in a fatal position of terrified of Mrs.Joe's expectant rage.

2. What Pip meant when he said "I thought what terrible good sauce for a dinner my fugitive friend on the marshes" was with sarcasm in his voice. It also referred to the undirect disruption of the Christmas dinner from the convict because of the search for him and the police entering Mrs.Joe's house because they needed a blacksmith, Joe.

3. The reason Pip's convict was trying to turn in the other convict was because they both were trying to put dirt on they reputation to turn in the other by the police. The other convict was accusing Pip's convict of attempted murder of him.

4.Pip's convict showed his way of telling Pip he didn't blame him for the police searching him and knew it was not Pip's fault by doing him a good thing. He told the police he had a statement he wished to say and that he randomly took some food including a pie from someone's house, therefore erasing all possible trouble or blame for Pip from his sister or anyone.

5.Pip decided not to tell Joe the whole of truth of his relationship with the convict and taking his file was because he treasured Joe's relationship between them too much. Pip knew that the only company, friendship and kindness and even self-esteem he could get in the world was with this one person who was the only one who ever truly appreciated him, Joe. He felt this truth and the actions he did would ruin it and make Joe's feelings about him turn down and change differently in a bad way, and he felt he couldn't afford that.

6. The way that Joe's whole life has affected him to the point of where he is now is because of his childhood. He did not have a fortunate life as a child. Its started out that Pip realized Joe couldn't read and wanted to know why. Joe began explaining how his life was disraught from his father being an alcoholic and beat him and his mother, to which both died later. This left Joe also as an orphran to the point in his life where he was happy that he met Georgiana (Mrs.Joe).

7.Mrs. Joe was eager for Pip to get together with Miss Havisham because Mrs.Joe was using Pip for use manipulations and selfish reasons, because Miss Havisham is a socialite who lives leisurely with a little girl named Estella who is not really referred to as an orphan because of the position she is in, of being Miss Havisham's girl.

8. The effect that Estella's attitude had on Pip was very effective on him. Estella, who lives with a mean and course woman, who can much be referred similar like Mrs. Joe and is unloving and bitter, is influenced by her personality and therefore is expected nothing more from coming out of Miss Havisham's care. So, due to this and Estella's personality, she taunts Pip and is directly nasty to look down on him and make him lower and is trying to imitate cruelty and meaness. Even so, Pip is very hurt and upset and is near to tears, which is obvious to Estella's eyes and position, but which he does not fully release to Estella's satisfaction. This is because he is ambitious to get Estella's acception secretly and is attracted not only to the surroundings of himself when he is with her, which is riches and luxury, he is also attracted to her.
